What are your three favorite things about Portland?
First, the sight, smell and feel of the ocean. I grew up on the ocean in Newfoundland and it’s my lifeblood.
Second, the wonderful good-natured spirt of Portland people.
Third, the variety and quality of excellent restaurants and fabulous food.
What are the three things visitors (and residents) absolutely must see or do while they’re in Portland?
Eat well: Breakfast at the Holy Donut is a must, Duckfat for lunch, margaritas at Sonny’s, and dinner at Timber on Upper Exchange.
The Portland Museum of Art, or for families, the Portland Children’s Museum right next door.
A leisurely morning stroll along the Eastern Promenade Trail.
When we say "Beyond Words," what comes to your mind first?
Thunderstorms and the smell of wild roses.
If you were an item in a hotel, what would you be and why?
Fresh flowers, because they are alive and colorful and convey happiness. Also, crisp clean sheets, because it’s what’s underneath that counts…
What are you doing when you’re not doing what you do?
Hanging out having fun with my husband, young daughters and friends.
