What are your three favorite things about Portland?
In no particular order: The sights, the seasons, and the food.
Portland gives you a lot to see, whether you’re just visiting or have lived here for years. Being the biggest city in the state, but also being small enough that it’s surrounded by Mother Nature, provides for a lot of beautiful sights.
One such beautiful sight is being able to experience all four seasons and the events and activities that go along with them. Lastly, the food is pretty great here!
What are the three things visitors (and residents) absolutely must see or do while they’re in Portland?
I’m always thinking about taking photos, so my recommendations tend to have a photographic flair. I recommend everyone checks out the Portland Observatory, which is a museum with a great view. From the observatory you can see the next agenda item: exploring the coastline via a Casco Bay Lines ferry. And everyone should experience a First Friday Art Walk during the summer, when the Arts District really comes alive.
When we say "Beyond Words," what comes to your mind first?
If you were an item in a hotel, what would you be and why?
Well, I haven't been asked this before. I love coffee, so maybe a coffee maker? But I especially enjoy iced coffee, so maybe I'd also be an ice machine.
What are you doing when you’re not doing what you do?
Aside from my 9 to 5 job and the taking photos, I enjoy being outside and walking around or cycling.
